(Muinetourism.vn) - This year, the Kate festival will take place within 2 day ( October 15 – 16) at the relic of Po Sah Inu tower (Phu Hai ward, Phan Thiet city) with many traditional cultural rituals and activities related to the culture of the ethnic Cham People.

With the meaning of preserving, exploiting and promoting the national cultural heritage as well as promoting the precious traditional beauty to domestic and foreign tourists, the Kate Festival in 2020 comprises two main parts: The rituals and cultural activities. The rituals will be directly conducted by dignitaries of Cham people in Ham Thuan Bac district; the cultural activities are the traditional game’s competitions, traditional handicrafts and Cham folk art performances.
First is the peace-praying ritual at the main tower (Tower A) performed by Cham ethnic religious dignitaries in Ham Thuan Bac district. The main rite will take place on the morning of October 16th with ceremony for bringing costume of goddess Po Sha Inu up to the main tower. The procession includes religious dignitaries of Cham, dance team, Cham folk music band, Cham people in Ham Thuan Bac, Bac Binh, Tuy Phong, Ham Tan, Ham Thuan Nam and Tanh Linh districts, local people and visitors. The following ones will be opening the tower’s door, washing the altar of Linga – Yoni, wearing costume and so on.
Within 2 days of the festival, there will be many attractive activities like: making gingerbread, playing Saranai trumpet, decorating Thônla and Cổ Bồng (Vietnamese names) to offer the goddess Po Sah Inu, music performance, traditional games and weaving….
During the festival, at the Po Sah Inu tower also has other space to show and introduce the images of Binh Thuan tourism as well as the typical handicraft and keepsakes of the Cham communities in Binh Thuan province.
