The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just issued a plan to organize a ceremony to announce the Prime Minister's decision on recognizing national treasures - phase 12, 2023 for the Golden Linga discovered during the excavation. With the purpose of propagandizing and widely promoting to the people, domestic and international tourists about the value of the national treasure of the Golden Linga; Raise people's awareness and actions in preserving and conserving cultural heritage in general and national treasures in particular, meeting the people's cultural enjoyment needs, serving tourism and ceremonies. The announcement will take place on the morning of October 2, 2024 (7:15 a.m. - 8:15 a.m., associated with the opening of Kate Festival 2024), display time from October 1 - October 6, 2024 at Po Sah Inu Tower. (Phu Hai ward, Phan Thiet city).

At the ceremony, representatives of the Department of Cultural Heritage announced and handed over the Prime Minister's Decision on recognizing the 12th National Treasure in 2023 to the leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The announcement ceremony was held in conjunction with the display of Golden Linga artifacts and images of the archaeological excavation of Po Dam tower, collections of Cham cultural artifacts of typical value. The content and form of display must ensure scientific, artistic, effective, economical and ensure absolute safety for national treasures, artifacts and documents on display.

It is known that the golden Linga, dating from the 8th - 9th centuries, is being strictly protected at the museum, after more than 10 years archaeologists found it under the Po Dam tower ruins. The golden linga has a cylindrical shape crafted using the riveting technique, 6.6 cm high; stem diameter nearly 5.5 cm; rim diameter 6 cm; weighs more than 78 grams, with more than 90% pure gold, the rest is silver and copper. Linga is an important worship object in ancient religious architectural relics of the Champa culture in Central Vietnam. Linga depicts the male genitals, symbolizing the source of life and fertility. In Brahmanism, Linga symbolizes Shiva, the god of destruction and rebirth.
