Korean player wins the 2024 World Individual Carom 3 Billiards tournament

On the afternoon of September 29, at Sea Links City (Phan Thiet City, Binh Thuan), the final match and closing ceremony of the 76th World Individual Championship 2024 3-band Carom Billiards Tournament took place. Attending were leaders. World Carom Billiards Federation, member Billiards Federations and Vietnam. On the provincial side, attending were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Head of the Organizing Committee Bui The Nhan.

  In the final match with the witness of a large number of delegates, spectators and fans of the coastal city, Korean Billiards "Prodigy" Cho Myung Woo excellently won 50 - 23 (including series - ri 11 points at the end of the match) against home player Tran Thanh Luc after 20 shots to win the gold medal, Championship Cup and prize worth 40,000 EUR; Player Tran Thanh Luc won the silver medal, the Cup and a prize of 20,000 EUR, and the third prize were two players Dick Jaspers (Netherlands) and Eddy Merckx (Belgium).

Sharing joy with the fans right after receiving the Championship Cup, player Cho Myung Woo said: "In the final match against the home opponent, I was a bit worried, but then with the enthusiastic cheers of the audience for for both players increased my determination and excitement to win. Not only did I receive support and encouragement during the final match as well as throughout the tournament, but the friendliness and hospitality of the Vietnamese people and the hosting venue for me and the athletes contributed to creating success today".

In his closing remarks, President of the World Carom Billiards Federation, Farouk Barki, congratulated the success of the tournament and thanked everyone who contributed to making the most prestigious tournament in the system great. World Billiards competition was held for the first time in Vietnam, especially Phan Thiet city (Binh Thuan) where the tournament was hosted. With the friendliness and hospitality of the people, plus the beautiful and poetic features of the city's nature, we will continue to bring attractive and prestigious tournaments to this place.

It is known that the tournament was organized by the World Carom Billiards Federation in collaboration with the Vietnam Billiards & Snooker Federation from September 25 to September 29 at Sea Links City (Phan Thiet City, Binh Thuan). Competing in the tournament are 48 players (from 23 countries on 5 continents) with high rankings in the rankings of the World Carom Billiards Federation, among the 7 players of host Vietnam is player Nguyen. Van Tai comes from Binh Thuan.
